This is the hardware and software I use to get stuff done.
Coding
Editors
-
Visual Studio Code has become the most popular editor of choice for software developers who build the web. I resisted making it my primary code editor for years simply due to how comfortable I was with Sublime Text, but after starting at job where everyone uses it I gave in. Pluralsight does a lot of pair programming and VS Code makes this very easy to do while working remotely with its live share feature.
-
Sublime Text was my primary code editor for many years. I still use it for a few things here and there, but VS Code has largely taken over my life.
Terminal
- iTerm 2 is my terminal of choice. It’s rock solid and amazing. Give it a try if you haven’t already.
Fonts
-
Hack is my go-to font for all code writing.
-
Inconsolata-dz used to be my primary font for everything and is my current font of choice for my terminal. I’m trying out Powerline-go for my shell’s prompt and it sadly doesn’t support Hack. Inconsolata-dz is great though so I don’t mind.
Apps
Hardware
- 2019 15" MacBook Pro
- 2018 Mac Mini
- Dell 4K P2715Q
- Magic Trackpad 2
- Mediocre wooden desk. I had to remove its drawer for it to work ok. It gets the job done. I might buy a nice desk someday.
